Symptoms

Runtime Error 339 occurs with either of the following messages when trying to run

Runtime Error 339: [File] not correctly registered

Cause

This error usually occurs when a required OCX or DLL file is missing, or not registered on your computer.

Resolution

First verify the file is actually present. If it is, go to

2. Type: regsvr32 thefile.ext

Where thefile.ext is the name and extension of the file (e.g. MSCOMCTL.OCX)

Once downloaded, extract the file to your System folder (System32 for Windows NT and above (64bit systems, the folder is SysWoW64)), then follow the steps above to register it.
